I think Flickr is fantastic. I have many photographs of places I have visited in the world that I would enjoy sharing with fellow travellers. Another passion I have is cloud formations and I have taken many photographs of clouds during my travels. Actually, not only on my travels. Western Australia has the most magnificent blue skies and stunning cloud formations. I always notice the impressive cloudy skies and have taken many photos of these majestic sights. It would be fun to share these photos with like-minded cloud enthusiasts. I enjoyed searching for Clouds in Flickr and I was overwhelmed by the number of stunning photos taken by fellow cloud lovers.
I think this is the essence of Flickr - the endless possibilities of sharing images, interests and information with others. This is why Flickr is so relevant to libraries today. Flickr will enhance the sharing of information within library communities. Information, in the form of images, would perhaps be inaccessible without tools like Flickr.
I wasn't too sure who's Blog i was reading, until I got to this part..... Then I knew instantly who this belonged to! Great Blog and well written....
ReplyDeleteI agree! We often underestimate the importance and value of images as information.
ReplyDeleteFlickr, as with all the social networking sites, increases our accessibility to information - and we are only limited by what we choose to do with that information.
